Misadventures
A bit of the story behind the hiatus...
In late June, I experienced a cardiac arrhythmia that caused intense dizziness and resulted in a hard fall, a severe concussion, and a nerve injury to my right arm. Happily, the arrhythmia was fully resolved with an ablation. However, a whole year later, I am still struggling with what they call “persistent-concussion syndrome” (imbalance, dizziness, and headaches). And the nerve injury hasn’t disappeared either (although I’m assured that it, and the concussion, will go away in time). Meanwhile, though, I have slightly diminished use of my right arm and hand. (It’s hard to type!)
As gloomy as that all sounds, I’ve gotten a lot better. I have a long list of exercises from two excellent physical therapists, and I’m doing them pretty faithfully. I’ve begun to do some online lecturing and feel ready to get the GLH going again.
