America's Dream or America First?
Sat, Jul 15
|Webinar
Two radically different narratives have been at odds in America since her very early days. One voices a dream of equality and justice for all. The other speaks in darker, more narcissistic tones of the conquest of the nation by the strong and the nation's conquest of the world.

Description
From the start, "the American Dream" had nothing to do with picket fences, rags to riches tales, or making a fortune in the market. Instead, it lifted up the shared aspiration that, together, Americans could create a land of equal opportunity and equal justice for all the nation's citizens.
The competing narrative – "America First" – was never really about the group, but always a narcissistic tale of the individual who glories in his great race, his true religion, and the mighty nation that he will help to shape: a nation that will dominate the world.
The two contrary visions of America have battled throughout America's history, but perhaps never more so than today.
